Coquettish Corsage

I made this phalaenopsis corsage for a vivacious little lady who loves fashion and parties. She wore a silk lavender dress for her senior prom. I made a matching buttonhole as well, but I used a peacock sword feather in case her date was not comfortable with the frou frou!

Phals are also known as Moth Orchids. I'd usually picture the white ones... very serene and modern. When I saw this spotted one I knew this bloom was ready to party!

Oncidium Boutonniere

Spring Prom is here! This was a lovely buttonhole that I made last year for my cousin. It's my favorite piece so far, I really wanted an elegant design that reflected his quiet nature. His date wore a cream and brown beaded dress and I knew that I just had to incorporate a guinea fowl feather to make it beautifully modern. I added a touch of yellow with the hypericum berries and a sprig of solidago. I love how it turned out!
